John Hablitschek
For more than half a century, John Hablitschek has followed a creative path shaped by curiosity, craftsmanship, and a deep respect for natural materials. He began making art and jewelry in the 60s, developing a style defined by flowing lines, organic forms, and a willingness to experiment. In the 80s, he pioneered his own approach to electroforming in silver and gold — a process that allowed metal to build naturally around each form, creating soft, sculptural contours that became a signature of his work.
When the materials required for electroforming disappeared in 2020, that chapter of John’s artistry came to an end. Every electroformed piece available today comes from a finite collection. Stock is limited, and once these pieces are gone, they cannot be recreated.
John continues to create through painting and sculpture, carrying the same artistic language into new mediums. He has also crafted a small series of gemstone tables — functional artworks — which will be added to this site soon.

It took over a year to create. John Hablitschek presents a handcrafted prehnite coffee table with a matching gemstone wall mural, offering a serene centerpiece that adds organic tranquility to any living space. The table boasts a live-edge wood base finished to highlight its natural grain, topped with a polished prehnite slab whose soft green translucence reveals delicate inclusions and gentle veining. Each stone is carefully selected and set by hand to preserve the prehnite’s natural flow and light‑reflecting depth.
The wall mural is a true art piece, echoing the table’s palette and texture with prehnite arranged in a flowing, nature‑inspired design. Light passes through varying stone thicknesses, creating a layered, luminous effect that shifts with the room’s lighting throughout the day.

John Hablitschek has crafted similar bespoke gemstone furnishings for distinguished clients, including commissions for the British royal family, showcasing his skill in blending precious stonework with refined artisanal joinery. Now 91 years old, he is nearly retired, leaving only a few of these pieces in existence.
